I ran. Again. Because I wanted to. Because my body wanted to move and my feelings wanted to move and my shoes were still in the car from the last time.
I parked at the top of the hill and ran the same stretch of road, bikini-ready for the lake, Glennon Doyle playing on my phone. But this time, I ran the whole way. I turned around and didn’t break stride– not to prove something bit because of the beauy of forward motion.
And the run was over so soon– too soon, almost.
But the lake called. The water wanted the paddle, the board wanted the rippling waves, the shallow stones wanted my shadow passing above them.
So I went.
