The end of the work week and the promise of rest, of sun and good weather, of late mornings and walks through town playing tourist (despite the small train of post-it notes reminding me there are a few things to tend to, despite the dishes that have been stacked on the counter since before my vacation): home, the exhale, the after and before– and the still-light summer night sky fading slowly through my bedroom window.
