The Day’s Delight: Sunset


The light glowed pink and orange, suffuse and creamy.



The lake steamed, clouds rising in time lapse, the waves cutting smooth stripes through the water, like a gleaming metal scoop through gelato.



And the wind blew, fast and cold, but not too cold for me, transfixed by the view, or for the little shrew that darted in and out of my footprint, shoveling snow out of its house.
